Freshman Fest

For the tenth consecutive year UD Hillel, in conjunction with the Jewish Studies Department, Chabad on Campus and the entire UD Jewish community is excited to offer a program for all incoming Jewish students.  Freshman Fest is 30 hours of fun and games with other incoming Jewish students.  Over the past ten years students have met their best friends on campus at Freshman Fest…and all before the first day of classes even begins.

For more information visitour Freshman Fest page or email Nicole Wasilus.
Alternative Break Trips

Each year UD Hillel gives our students the opportunity to do more than just hang around home during spring and winter breaks. In the past, we have done Katrina Relief work in devastated towns near New Orleans and built homes for those in need in Uruguay.

For more information, visit our Alternative Breaks page or email Jeremy Winaker.
Taglit-Birthright Israel

Twice a year UD Hillel takes part in the FREE 10 day trip to Israel! Winter and summer trips are open to all eligible students.

UD Campus

The University's main location in Newark, Delaware, is a beautiful suburban setting where the classic Georgian campus invokes history and a sense of tradition. The Newark campus is nestled next to the downtown business district, which boasts the charm of a small-town community enriched and enlivened by the University community.

University building and dormitories neighbor businesses, restaurants and private homes- creating a vibrant, electric atmosphere. For a map of the UD campus, click here.

The two main student centers are called the Trabant University Center, and the Perkins Student Center which hold a food court (no kosher outlets), grocery market, a pool hall, movie theater, student groups offices, meeting spaces and much more!
Student Groups

The Kristol Center for Jewish Life is home to six Jewish student organizations; Hillel Student Life, KOACH, Kesher, Project CHANGE, The ChaiNamics, and Israel U.
