FYSH

This year, UD Hillel is kick starting its first yearlong freshmen engagement program for incoming students called First Year Students at Hillel (FYSH). In addition to freshmen programming, the FYSH program involves a peer mentorship initiative. New incoming students who register for the program are known as "Little FYSH" and are matched by interest with returning students, known as "Big FYSH."

The goal of the FYSH program is threefold: to help freshmen settle in to college life, to familiarize them with Jewish life at UD, and to facilitate their involvement in the Hillel community. As peer mentors, Big FYSH have the responsibility of making their Little FYSH, the mentees, feel welcome and supported as they step into the college world.

Hillel will host special programming designed for FYSH participants so as to strengthen the relationship between Big and Little FYSH. Some upcoming events we have planned are an Ice Cream Social, Movie Night, a Picnic and more!

For more information, please contact the UD Hillel Assistant Director Cara Benhneman at Benheman@udel.edu.
