WELCOME CLASS OF 2029!
Markell Fresh Fest 2025
2025 Dates:
Thursday, August 21st - Friday August 22nd

I'm not religious, are these programs/Hillel for me?
You betcha! More than 1/3 of our students identify as culturally Jewish or Jew-ish. These programs aren't religious (though there are options for those who are looking for that type of experience).
My roommate isn't doing Freshmen Fest...should I still do it?
For sure! A ton of people don't have Jewish roommates and while you might think you want to do things 24/7 with your roommate it'll be good to have some things that are just for you. This will be a great way for you to make an additional set of friends outside your floor that you can introduce your roommate to later!
What happens at Freshmen Fest?
Lots of stuff! Here are a few highlights:
-
BBQ, Bagel Brunches, dinners, and meals on Main St.
-
Tours of campus where you'll go to your actual classrooms so you don't get lost the first day
-
Ice Breakers (we all hate them, but let's be real they work)
-
Optional activities like sports, challah baking, jam sessions, and hikes
-
You'll also get a t-shirt and other fun swag
When is the deadline to register?
We ask that you register before the end of July. This gives us a chance to order your t-shirt and introduce you to your group. If you didn't get the chance to register before August, no worries! Contact our Campus Director, Rabbi Jeremy, to get more information!
